The Executive Alignment Process™ with LeadershipCures

You’re in the right place if…

  • Your team is all over the place and not on the same page

  • Your meetings are not productive and you are not making decisions

  • It takes too much time to make decisions

  • You are not confident that your leadership team is working on the right things that drive the most value

  • It’s tough to get things done in your business

  • Your team spends a lot of time arguing vs making decisions

  • You have more things to get done than capital to invest

“Our team wasted three years arguing about what we should do to solve a critical business problem.

LeadershipCures got us on the same page in two days.”

— Pat M., Board Member

Everyone knows that time is money.

How are you and your Executive Team spending yours?

The Challenges of Misalignment

  • Misalignment is Practically the Norm

When MIT and London Business School set out to study how strategy plays out in 400 companies, they got a surprise. The research team started by asking 11,000 leaders what should be an easy question: “What are your company’s top three to five priorities?”

The results were “shockingly bad”. Only 1/3 could name their company’s top three goals and given five tries, only 50% could agree on the same top priority.

  • Misalignment is Very Costly

Imagine a team of ten executives with an average total comp of $200,000 annually. That’s $2 million in payroll cost alone all sitting in meetings arguing vs deciding. Then walking out of meetings saying they are on the same page, but not leading their departments in the same direction.

Now, imagine the total cost to the organization in terms of the opportunity cost of revenue, employee satisfaction, late projects, failed initiatives, and customer satisfaction.

  • Misalignment Impacts Everyone

When the Executive Leadership Team cannot align, focus, and execute, this has a ripple effect throughout the entire company. The misalignment at the top gets more distorted the farther it moves from the center of leadership.

This has massive implications for every employee in the company. They become frustrated, disillusioned and are unsure where the company is heading. Employee satisfaction can plummet and attrition can skyrocket.

Most companies have a better process in place for reimbursing a $10 burrito than they have for making multi-million dollar investment decisions.

Here’s how we’ll help you make sure your company is different:

A guided process to create focus & alignment

F O C U S

Working on too many ideas is the opposite of focus.

The wisdom lies in knowing when to expand the scope for more ideas and when to narrow it down and focus on the selected few.

“People think focus means saying yes to the thing you’ve got to focus on. But that’s not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. I’m actually as proud of the things we haven’t done as the things I have done. Innovation is saying no to 1,000 things.”

— Steve Jobs

Not every problem is worth solving.

Which problems should we ignore…for now?

Which problems matter…really?

Finding the Vicious Cycle

A serious problem is a problem that manifests itself in a vicious cycle and generates many undesirable effects.

The Executive Alignment Process

An interactive two day workshop

A guided, structured experience to engage your executive team to identify, discuss, prioritize and align around the most important challenges blocking growth in your business.

Why the Executive Alignment Process™ Works

We asked ourselves, “How can we deliver the most value in the least amount of time?”

(One of the many reasons we don’t consider ourselves consultants)

Then we spent 100’s of hours designing, testing, implementing and iterating.

  • Experiential Discovery. Not telling.

People learn and align through experiences and self-discovery of new ideas. Not when being told what to do or what to think.

The Executive Alignment Process is designed around group experiences, games, and simulations so that the team can learn, discover and align by thinking about the situation in unique and different ways. Not just arguing or talking in circles. Not being told by a “consultant” what they believe the answer is.

By leaning in, creating space for everyone to engage, share what is on their mind and think differently. Together. If you want to change what you get, you have to change what you do. And if you’re going to change what you do, you have to change how you think. It’s only by thinking differently that you can arrive at a breakthrough.

  • Proven Tools, Approaches & Techniques.

We use a proven & repeatable system of tools, approaches and techniques honed over a combined fifty years of focusing on the challenge of executive team alignment.

These active and focused approaches require the team to think about their situation and wrestle with problems and insights in entirely new ways.

Our system uses “Logical Thinking Tools” to provide a framework for the group to examine the situation using a scientific “cause & effect” relationship in a systematic, structured and focused way to break down the problem.

As Albert Einstein says: “You can’t solve problems using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

  • Situationally Relevant. To you. To your team. To your business.

This isn’t all “pie-in-the sky” case study thinking. It’s not some ethereal story told by a “consultant” or “trainer” of how others have solved their problems.

We carefully craft and purpose-build an Executive Alignment Workshop for you. For your team. For your situation. For your business.

Everything feels custom-built for your team because it is. We do our homework.

Through this, we’ll help you and your team thoroughly examine your specific situation in a new way to have a breakthrough in thinking. This results in ridiculous alignment and “never seen before” levels of focus on what matters most so the team can drive the business forward to deliver overall company results.

  • Facilitated by Experienced Executives.

We have been in your shoes. We’ve navigated your problems. We speak the language of leadership and deeply understand the difficulties and challenges of leading executive teams and delivering results to a Board and Investors.

We have real-world executive experience leading small, medium and large companies ($5 million to $450+ million) ourselves and have worked with companies of all sizes (up to $1 billion).

Yet, our value is not in what we have done, but in how we have learned to do it.

We are neutral, unbiased, experienced experts who will come alongside you to help you get everyone on the same page and focus everyone’s energy, time and attention on the things that matter most in delivering results. Our only agenda is to help you and your team get it right.

Imagine in just a few weeks:

  • Your entire organization is clear and aligned on where you are going

  • Everyone comes to work focused on winning as “one team”

  • Able to make decisions that are best for the overall business vs individuals or individual teams

  • You are confident everyone is working on things that drive results

  • Meetings are productive and engaging vs dreaded

  • More work (projects, initiatives, customer orders) gets done, faster

  • People are happier, engaged and energized

  • Your team is confident about the future

Don’t waste another six months trying to figure it out on your own.

And definitely don’t waste $250,000 and nine months on a consultant to tell you what they think.

We can help you go further, faster.

“LeadershipCures provided our team a much needed process to reach alignment about where to take our business in the future.

We left the workshop in a position to move forward as a senior leadership team and better prepared to align and motivate our entire organization.”
